Foreword:
If this book helps even one family protect their child from abuse
and neglect at the hands of a caregiver, then this publication has
been an overwhelming success.
Having looked everywhere for a similar guide to screening and
selecting a responsible caregiver, and after not being able to find
anything to help parents know how to provide their child with the
best and safest care possible, prompted me in writing this ebook.
As you read through this book it is imperative that you understand
why steps are taken, why questions are asked, and the importance of
teaching your child about their safety and security.
Children need to be safe and secure and it is your responsibility as
a parent and as a human being to teach them and educate them about
what exactly is abuse and neglect. You must establish a relationship
with your child and create a nurturing and stable environment for
them to open up and talk with you.
It is also important for you to take the time to listen to them
anytime they feel they want to talk, regardless of what you are
doing. If you take the time and put your child before anything else
you have going on in your life you will find that they will come to
you whenever they have a problem, before it’s too late.
You will also discover how to recognize a problem with your
caregiver and what you can do about it to resolve the problem.
There is a lot of information covered in this publication with lots
of tips and points to help you, as a parent, through the process of
selecting top quality child care. It is recommended that you first
read through this book in it’s entirety then go back to the detailed
Table of Contents and select the specific chapters you are looking
for to make your search for child care easier, quicker and safer.
